Event Recycling

Every year, there are numerous fairs and festivals coordinated by area organizations, businesses and schools.  In order to capture the recyclable beverage cans and bottles generated at these events, CVWMA has partnered with our residential recycling contractor Tidewater Fibre Corporation (TFC) to offer event recycling.

Special collapsible recycling containers (pictured at right) will be loaned to interested groups to collect cans and bottles from single-day events.  Use of the containers and collection and recycling of the collected materials are provided at no charge, but a $100 refundable deposit is required to defray the costs of replacing containers that are damaged or not returned.

A limited number of containers are available for loan and reservations will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.  Click here for the application.

Accepted items: Not accepted items:

-  Aluminum soda cans
-  Plastic soda bottles (with the PET 1 symbol on the bottom)

-  Plastic cups
-  Food contaminated items (like food wrappings, paper plates, etc)

If your event will be generating other recyclables such as cardboard or glass bottles, please contact us in advance to discuss treatment of these materials.

Container Details

  • Heavy-duty, 3/8 inch steel frame

  • Raised lid with four can/bottle-sized openings

  • Instructional decals on lid to identify accepted items
